Mission Impossible films tend to be reasonably entertaining romps, but if the franchise’s pint-sized lead actor isn’t your cup of tea, maybe one of the latest MI film’s other stars - a ‘Silverstone II’ silver F80 M3 - might convince you to buy a ticket. It’s just been spotted in Rabat, Morocco, being thrashed about and painfully clattering down some steps while being filmed.

The film will be released in December 2015, and other than the BMW, it stars Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Alec Baldwin and Paula Patton.

Everybody knows that all the best films have car chases, and it seems as though the Mission Impossible 5 crew has taken that mantra to the extreme for their new movie.

We’ve already seen a BMW M3 getting mercilessly abused at the hands of Tom Cruise and his stunt drivers, but these photos indicate that the super saloon abuse was widespread.

We can only hope these were bog-spec 3s, wrapped up in sparkly M gubbins - it always feels like such a waste when movies wreck perfectly useful performance cars!

Problem with car I bought 4 weeks ago. Please Advise.

Hey Guys,

So since owning my 2005 Corsa Lite for about a month now she has been making this noise since the evening I took her home. According to the dealer and his mechanic at Bosch in Republic Road-Randburg there's nothing wrong with the car and won't cover or fix anything as the clutch/gearbox are wear and tear parts on the car. Mileage is 100500km

The whirring/knocking sound is there when the the engine runs in neutral with my foot off of the clutch. As soon as I press the clutch in the sound goes away. I am being quoted almost R6000 at a reliable workshop to put in a new clutch and change the input shaft bearing if this is even the faulty bearing. Please guys your advice is appreciated.

bmw 318i auto oil in coolant

Hi, does anyone have experience with oil in their expansion tank?
The car is a 2002 bmw 318i f/l.(auto) N42 motor.
I've read that the oil cooler tends to leak, can anyone advise on this.

Car is running great, no abnormal temp or coolant in sump.

N54 335i blown turbos: Advice needed

Hi guys,

My uncle owns a 2009 335i N54 E90 Auto and this week brought it into the dealers complaining that the car was lacking power. He just received the report and after diagnostics they have identified that the turbos are blown and need to be replaced.

They have quoted him R70k for the job. The car has only 91 000 km's on the clock so this is beyond surprising.

Guys, please provide alternatives to the stealers, as I would highly advise that he does not let them proceed with the job. I don't trust those monkeys changing a wheel, nevermind replacing turbos!

The car has no software or hardware modifications - is completely stock. Additionally I can say that the car has never been driven recklessly, irresponsibly or abusively.

Firstly: Is this a realistic diagnosis? Could the car have been mis-diagnosed?
Secondly: Who do you guys recommend the car be taken to?

A stock OEM replacement will be desired as opposed to an opportunistic turbo upgrade, but perhaps there is an after-market solution that will be applicable to this situation?

Need a response asap as this is my uncles daily driver.

So with the M6 V10 having hit a brick wall as far as the speed limiter goes my neighbour decided to get his bike on the go as this will not have the same problem.(speed limiter).
The decision was taken to mod only as far as 95 octane fuel will go as this bike is used for breakfast runs as well.
Bike completed we went to the track and the first runs and log have come out pretty decent.

60ft................2.69sec..............59km/h
1/8mile...........7.83sec.............191km/h
1/4mile..........11.11sec............243km/h
800mts..........16.42sec............288km/h
1km..............18.86sec............301km/h
0-200km/h............8.27sec

Hi there.

Been using iPhone for more that 2 years and Mac now for 4 months.

I know some people will say it is not necessary but I want to improve my security like VPN for public Wifi, and a client for suspicious emails, web browsing safety, downloads, PC viruses ect...

Any opinions on this topic? Also what Clients do you recommend (Paid & Free Apps)

Hey guys,

I went to BMW yesterday to pick up my F30 and I didnt expect such a beauty! Blown away and it doesnt feel real that this car is mine. A good replacement for the E90.
Such a huge difference in the look of the car now, and those wheels!! Blowheart

Any tips on removing alternator and belt E46

hi guys

i am trying to replace the oil filter housing gasket but in order to do that need to remove my belt and alternator...

any clue as to how to get belt off (from what it looks like there is a super long bolt holding the belt and goes into the alternator.....i dont have a tool to remove the fan so space wise its a bit tricky...

any tips for removal please...

Anybody have one of those front loader CD units for sale - that will work in an E36? I had this in my Z3MCoupe ... loved it.

I want to replace the cassette deck in my E36 M3... and i dont want to go for an aftermarket unit (theres something about an OEM unit in an E36!!?!).

CAR PULLING LEFT HELP PLEASE

hi all
i need some advise please.

i had new 18" bridgestone rft's fitted and balanced, alignment was checked and was all okay.

the car is pulling left. left it to settle for 1000kms nothing changed.
then had a left to right swop. left to settle for 1000kms. nothing changed.
went back this morning to check again. checked alignment. its all good.
checked tyre pressures. all okay.

car is still pulling left

what do i do next ?

Anti-roll bars: H& vs Eibach

From some searching it seems that the eibach offers a more OEM like level of stiffness with the h&r being stiffer (more track orientated ). Both come with poly bushes, though the eibach ones need to be lubed where the h&r comes with a teflon mesh so no lubrication is need. (Though some users have reported premature failure of this mesh) The h&r offers more adjustment with the front and the rear bars being adjustable whereas only the front is adjustable on the eibach bars.


I am wondering if anyone on this forum has used either or both of these brands of anti-roll bars and what their impressions and experience with them was.

Hi

Is this possible do to without altering the standard onboard computer?
Has anyone done this before?
What power gains are expected?
Is it a reliable?

Any other information will be appreciated

The main reason for me wanting to install an aftermarket chip is to increase performance when I need it the most and fuel consumption.

I recently upgraded to a Sony Xperia Z2, great phone, just wish it had a but more memory like the Galaxy.

Are there any cool apps that you guys can suggest?

I found a navigation app called FreeNav that does not use your mobile data.
Have not tried it out yet.

Does anyone know of an app i can download that can time 1/4 mile runs, etc via GPS.

Flywheel locking tool and Cam locking tool
I want some special tools made for my BMW but cannot afford to buy the real thing :oops:

So, i have the dimensions of what i need: Just need to have them made...where can I go with this?

anybody with a contact at an engineering place that can knock out a few for myself and any other interested fanatics?
