Wassup People ![Wavey Wavey]()
So after an initial engine bay inspection a few days ago on my E39 528i, I discovered a nice big tear in one of the rubber intake boots.
Decided to get to it and post some pics
I always had this "whistle" like noise when accelerating, I was convinced it was a pulley, but after renewing them and the tensioners, I still had this "whistle"![Cry Cry]()
BUT after renewing these intake boots, the whistle is completely gone
![Joy Joy]()
Maybe some of the experts can shed some light as to why this leak would cause a whistle like noise?![Iono Iono]()
Here a the pics then :
You will see my "temporary" fix with isolation tape when I discovered it![Fencelook Fencelook]()

Fuel consumption is now better than ever, car responds and shifts A LOT smoother, and it seems there were a few extra horses revived too!!![Thumbs Thumbs]()
I would recommend checking these, as both of the boots cost me about R400 at the dealer![Thumbs Thumbs]()
