Hey guys
So long story short, my 17-55mm f2.8 lens was sent to Nikon due to fungus that developed on one of the elements inside Got a quotation from Nikon saying that it is uneconomical to repair and parts would need to be shipped in from Singapore, because the elements would need to be replaced due to impact and fungus damage. I've sent the information to my broker to submit a claim so hopefully I'll be able to get a replacement lens soon.
I'm thinking that if they do cover the lens should I stick with the 17-55 or get a 24-70 f2.8? I like the wide end of the 17-55, but always found the long end a bit too short. Is the 24-70 good as an all round lens?
Any other suggestions?
It will be used on a D7100 by the way and I don't plan on going full frame anytime soon.
