Hi all
Firstly this is my first post. So apologies if I am breaking any forum rules that I may have missed.
About me: I love my BM. I know absolutely nothing about mechanics...
So onto my question (I searched but could not find much on this topic, again if I missed the thread please point me in the direction and we can close this one).
Question
I am at a cross road weather to look at getting a newer lower mileage BMW, purely with the concern of something going horribly wrong mechanically, or keep this incredible vehicle out of motorplan. In your expert opinions should I be losing precious sleep with a BMW with this kind of mileage and year (again I know very little about mechanics)?
I am happy if maintenance will end up costing 4-5k a year, and the tyre and brake costs. I am mainly concerned about unforeseen "major" faults (ie. costly ones).
Consumption is a bit of drag at 10-13 km/litre with mostly traffic driving I do. I can live with this as I only intend on doing 15 000 km a year.
The car itself is in excellent condition with a full service history. Still smells new!! NO JOKES. I took over ownership from my father who really drives his cars, well, like an old man! I don't the back seats have ever been used
I have booked a quality check with Garage 808 next week. But not sure what questions to ask.
Sorry for the long winded thread. Look forward to your comments.
