I created this thread from a question from herr_bmw:

The Shield polisher is a dual action polisher, what exactly is a dual action polisher?
A DA (Dual Action) uses oscillating motion to polish the paint work. This oscillating movement prevents excess heat build-up and also provides more balance to the machine which makes handling the machine that much easier. The big difference to this vs a Rotary polisher is:
It’s a polisher MEAN’T for the novice detailer.
What’s the difference between this polisher and the yellow polisher sold at the supermarket?
The main difference is power. This machine uses the same oscillating motion as those supermarket jobbies but it has much more power to actually tackle paint defects. It has a small polishing head which makes access to harder to reach places much easier.
The bottom line is this polisher brings pro detailing to man at home, at an extremely affordable price. The more you use it, the better your technique. I would highly recommend this polisher to anyone who is looking at taking their weekend polishing to the next level. Hand polishing and waxing can only improve your paintwork so much, but if you looking at removing swirls, light scratches and “spiderweb defects” then your only option is to look at a machine polisher.
While we do sell the polisher alone, I would highly recomend getting the complete Menzerna kit which comes with better quuality pads and Menzerna polishes that will get the job done.
If you have any further questions please fire away !

- Does not require professional training to handle
- Will not “burn” or damage the paint
- Will not leave those nasty buffer trails
