Hi fanatics,
I need some advice please, ok we bought the 320d in August last year, when we viewed the car it had a “fog light” error on the dash which they promised to sort out before we got the car. On the day of delivery the error was still there. I spoke the sales man about it and about a week later they picked the car up and sorted it out. Then about a month later the hooter stopped working, called them again they picked the car up and sorted it out. In December the aircon/heater blower stopped working, called the salesman again and he put me in touch with the guy that done all the repairs on the car before. He quoted me R5000 for the repair, I didn’t get the car sorted out as he was closing and I said I will wait for the new year…then the steering lock (steering with that arrows error) kept popping up on the dash….now when we first got the car the salesman said it’s a safety pre-caution feature (this came up occasionally) and to my stupidity I never re-searched this. From the beginning of Jan this error pops up almost every time we start the car…sometimes it starts immediately with no error ,other times it takes a few tries and sometimes she doesn’t start at all. This frustrated me as we went to the garage on Sunday and after trying for about 30 minutes she started, called the sales man and informed him and called the guy that did the repairs on the car and he says it’s the steering lock system and will cost about R10 000 without labour. The salesman just got back to me and said they not covering anything or repairing anything on the car although he was aware of it…!
With regards to the CPA, what grounds do I have with this and how do I go about handling it this issue? I am trying to get as much information as possible to get this resolved…
