Martini 918 goes shopping in Cape Town

I imagine the bigwigs in Stuttgart must have looked at the dark tip of the African continent as the ideal spot to run a covert convoy of their latest hybrid hypercar, the Porsche 918 Spyder.
Clearly, they were wrong, if being discreet was part of the brief. One does not proceed to bisect South Africa via its national highways then park said convoy opposite the busiest shopping mall in Cape Town, does one? And why the heck are they here, exactly? Hot weather testing of the mid-engined, all-wheel-drive 4.6 litre V8 (453kW) and the pair of electric motors (208kW) that complement it, presumably…
Although that wouldn’t explain the provocative Martini livery would it, unless they’re made out of some new hi-tech, hybrid vinyl sticker? Anyone like to hazard a guess as to what five (or more) examples of Porsche’s 661kW (combined power), have been doing in South Africa for the last two months or so?
