So as the title suggest I am going to rebuild my R6 engine, most of you might think "Oh hes going to fck this up", I am thinking the same thing but going to do it anyways regardless.
So here are the history, bought the bike in December as a non runner to keep me busy and out of trouble, after doing the head shims, replacing a coil, sparks and cleaning carbs it started up and revved like a beast, the only problem then was that it cuts out at 80c and would not start. I continued to do a compression test and noticed that all 4 have a 120psi compression, the manufacturer spec is min 185 and max 240.
I found a motor in and got scammed, and then found another one if port shepstone, the problem on that one was conrod bearing on cylinder 3 and I only needed the cylinder block.
So that's the brief history, started stripping the donor yesterday and will be removing the current one today.
This is to learn more about motors and considering how cheap the engines are a great test and loads of fun.
