Hey folk,
embracing it may seem but as this morning my local boulders did not have any Sonax shampoo I use typically and for the sake of getting rid off the sludge from last 10 days of commuting in Gauteng simply bought 2ltr Shield Xtreme 'new formula' shampoo.bulk and value R80 odd bucks.
The 520 d was cleaned using 2 rounds of foam with my preasure cleaner and then Sonax easy wax applied ...acceptable result......only did I notice this Pm that my spouse's car had developed some blue marks on the silver paint and on closer inspection it was the splatter from the Xtreme wash I performed meters away only the left hand side adjacent was affected but nastily so. The blue bubbles have attacked the top coat and no matter what I tried could not remove
My only thought is the shampoo splashed to her car parked next to mine then it stayed on surface for few hrs till discovered.
This is a not meant as warning as most will not see fit to use this local rubbish that is powerful and gentle allegedly and more a lesson I hope the paint / clear coat can be salvaged should I take to local Dent Doctor or any resident detailers have advise ????
Will send the bottle back to Shield who knows what they use to ensure the cleaner 'strips' away dirt.
Never again to touch this product.
