Quote:Johannesburg - Motorists will have to fork out more at the pumps for petrol as the energy department announced another price hike.
The price of 95-octanes petrol will increase by 7.0 cents a litre (c/l) and 93-octanes will go up 5.0c/l from next Wednesday, the department said.
There is some relief for motorists using diesel as it will go down by 8-9c/l.
Consumers will now pay R14.39/l and R14.02/l for 95-octane in Gauteng and the coast respectively.
The fuel tax and RAF levy and an increase in transport costs also come into effect in April.
Ahead if the announcement economists told Fin24 that they expect an increase of between 3 and 8 cents.
Last month the price of all grades of petrol increased by 36 cents, while diesel went up by 27 and 28c/l.
