Hope everyone had a enjoyable long weekend.
So long story short...
My GF's dad was stopped by the police on Sunday on Allendale on ramp, he had forgotten his licence at home, so the police did a search on his car. Found some cash he had with him so they said they will impound the car. They insist on going to his house to get his licence, but he said he did not have the key so just went to his office by Midrand.
The police stayed down stair by his shop and he went up to the 3rd floor and waited until my GF brought his licence. When my GF arrived, they said they wanted to "search" the warehouse and check all the "documentation". My GF reply they have no authority to do that as they are not SARS nor customs, asked them to leave but they wanted "something". She did not comply.
So after police left, 20mins later 2 cars showed up. They stated themselves to the guard by the gate they were police and wanting to come to the shop, but was not in police vehicle or uniform. They banged on the door and walked around the premises, trying to look inside the father's vehicle. So the father pressed the panic button and inform the ADT security to ask them to leave. After a long argument they finally left and the ADT escorted my GF and father home safely.
Now I'm not the one to accuse of anything, but it just seems such coincident... such a scary moment and glad they were ok...
