Guys, just wanna know which is your brand of choice, Agents only, Goldwagen, or the generics from Autozone/Midas, etc.
I'm due for an oil change and been checking around for filters and was just wondering if cheap actually means inferior or good value for money.
Firstly the reason I was shopping around was I could not find Magnatec Professional 5w30 in 5L.
I came across Champion and Fiaam filters. I decided to stay away from these brands and stuck to Goldwagen where they supplied me with Topran air and oil filters.
Doing research now, I see that Fiaam is used by Ferrari and Fiat, and that GUD makes filters for BMW
Also that the pads that BMW supplies is actually made by ATE.
The guys at the parts department of Sandton Auto told me this.
I also checked that the brake booster that sits in the engine bay in front of the driver has an ATE sticker on it.
So is using ATE pads same as the agents pads just cheaper?
Are Fram/GUD/Fiaam/Champion filters just as good as the agents ones?
Thanks guys, I look forward to you valued input
