hi guys
my name is Rodney and I'm a ///M-aholic..
i was introduced to BMW as a kid(5/6 years old) by my dad with our first BMW. i will never forget. Henna red e12 518 solex carb on it with the then BBS/Mahle rim on it. it had the Alpina(i think its that or Zender) front scoop, rear black fin and a louvre(apparently the in thing back then)
then for some strange reason my father listened to some uncle of mine and bought a cressida which he owned for a whole 6 months before trading it in for another E12. but this time round to the car i loved. It was a pacific blue 528i also with BBS/Mahle rims. First time i saw that baby in action was when this guy in a toyota conquest RSI revved next to us and my dad laughed, launched the the car and ran traffic light to traffic light and abusing this chap and his poor car. only to find out that, for the cape town guys, Achmat Achmat did a mod on the car when it was owned by the previous owner. At the age of 11, my feet could touch the peddles and dad taught me to do my first doughnut. his logic was that it should be out of my system y the time i am old enough to drive.. LIKE THATS GOING TO HAPPEN!!
My pops then bought a series of BMWs through the years of me growing up. 2 of which i really liked, the e30 325i and then my personal favorite, 525i MEX multivalve. she was white but kitted out with the M5 body kit and rims.
at that point i bought my first car.
opel record - irmshir edition (had CDv6 diff and box)
cd16v - mom said i needed to sell it because i was going to kill myself in it(thanks mom, i was 19)
Golf 3 GTi(had that for quite a time, was really proud of that car)
200is Kadett(that car was the thorn in my side)
1.6 astra with sidies(cape flats coloured mod) you know, like putting Mayo on chops.. it just works.
during this time there was always one of 2 BMWs that i wanted to personally own but could not afford it or find one. that was either a e30 325i(chrome bumper)/325is or the e36 M3.
growing up during that time, it was the car to have or cult car of that era. so after searching high and low, i found one and God willing, would possible be the owner of my dream car in the next week or 2..
so thats me, i trust it wasnt a boring read.. oh.. HI GUYS.. LOL and i know this is really cliche, Nice site
