Hey Guys, I apologise if my question is too long but my situation is a little weird. I am considering trading my 2011 Corsa Utility 1.4 Sport in on a 2009/10 Opel Corsa Opc.
How are the Corsa OPC's with regards to reliability and fuel consumption. I currently get 9km on a litre in town with the Utility. And also, how are they in terms of servicing. I know they come out standard with a 3year/60000km service plan. My Utility is currently on +-17000km and my 30000km set me back about R3200 and did not include brakes or pads. I declined wipers as GM wanted to charge me R500 for the set and the "Aircon treatment" (also declined) would have set me back a further R700.
I live in Randburg and study in PTA and since the Gautrain price increase on June 1st, it costs me R140 per day to commute. And R2800 is R400 more than my monthly car payment.
The servicing on the Utility is done at GM purely to retain the warranty and have a full service history to try and get a good trade-in value in the future.
I will be doing my honours next year and classes are in the evenings till 9 so I wont be able to use the train anymore and will sell my scooter that I use to get to campus.
And in terms of finance, the settlement on the car is about R20000 less than the trade value so I wont be losing money If I trade in. I would also be able to put R10000 cash down towards the deposit or maybe keep the R10k for service and maintenace as I know the 18's are expensive on that little pocket rocket.
Thank you for reading guys. Sorry for the long post
So do you guys think the OPC would be a good daily driver or are there other sporty alternatives? The only reason I considered the OPC is because we have a longstanding relationship with GM and usually get discount on the cars that we buy from them.
This is Ignatius btw
