Track-day wannabe - e36 325 Coupe

Hz, having to 'distance-check' my old e30 track-day car due to the 'tin-worm' infestation, I moved 'up' to an e36. My fetish for a 2dr/coupe as a track car made the search a little difficult. I eventually managed to neg a fair price on this car.
En-route home after the purchase.

Managed to do the mandatory strip ect within a week before it's 1st outing at Dezzi's. Work inc stripping the interior(inc the sound deadening), aircon delete, e46 steering rack swop, clutch and flywheel swop/replace ( distance-checked the dual mass), rear main seal, replaced 2 broken studs on the exhaust mainfold, fabricated a new steering coupler, replaced tie-rod ends, installed a short-shift, fabricated new gearlinkage bush, repaired mounting flange on the gearbox, fabricated an extension for the steering wheel, fabricated a new A-frame, mounted/fitted 2 x seats, and a very basic wheel alignment set up.

As she was for the 1st event....note the increased body height due to the weightloss

This resulted in the car being very tail-happy and the back locks up under hard braking, to be expected though.....ride height , insufficent rear camber and brake bias needs attention. Barring the handling issue's the car ran faultlessly and we had an absolute gas.....good to be tracking again.

As with most of us cashflow is an issue when building a toy. Next up was a solution to the poor handling albeit a tempoary one until funds allow for a new set-up. At this point the set-up is homegrown being a combo of e36 and e30 parts not ideal but it has improved the car dramatically.
Here is the 'new' front strut, half e30/e36 to allow for the use of an Bilstien insert.

A poor pic but it does give an indication of the ride height.

Another of the resultant rear camber.

Next on the agenda is a swop to et20 offset wheels and some c/plates up front. Cheers
