JOHANNESBURG – An intense cold front is expected to hit the Western Cape and parts of the Northern Cape from Wednesday evening and Gauteng will not be spared.
The South African Weather Service says Gauteng residents will start feeling the effects from Friday.
Temperatures are expected to drop and the first summer rains could fall this weekend.
Forecaster Edwin Thema says, “We are expecting strong winds over Gauteng and this cold front is expected to hit Gauteng on Friday, dropping the temperatures to still warm in the North but cool in the South.”
In the Western Cape, residents and farmers have been warned of gale force winds, heavy rain, flooding cold conditions and even snowfall.
Conditions are expected to clear up by the weekend, before the cold front hits Gauteng.
