Good evening guys

When I recently signed up I saw that I actually registered back in 2011.
My mom and sister both bought 1992 E30 318i's (manual & auto) back in 1997 whereby I inherited my mom's maroon beemer when I started working in 2010. That car could not break, we towed a trailer multiple times down to George for our yearly vacation. We moved three times and used it everytime to move all our furniture. I sold it at 296000km (was really not well maintained) and got myself an E36 BMW 316i. Beautiful car but had a lot of problems that surfaced in the 18 months that I had it. Thing that I really don't like about the E36 is that they are very low. Used to scrape every f-en speedbump or ridge. Car also overheated on a trip to Vaalwater (expensive lesson learnt - fuel attendant did not replace radiator cap properly, I now always check) and cost me about R10k to repair. Car didn't feel the same. Sold it, then went safe and bought a 2008 VW Polo 1.6 and have had many reliable, unexciting, economic miles. Mother had an E46 320d steptronic (great car) and my old man briefly had a 1985 E23 728i automatic which was stolen - what a loss, I remember the huge comfortable seats and old fashioned facia.

So I am hoping to get myself another BMW (looking at E83 X3 2.0d/E46 or E90 320d), preferably an X3. Getting married in March (they drive BMW's also - makes me happy).

I read through some posts on here regarding the X3, seems the transfer box is something to look at? Also, what does services cost from 120000km onwards? I saw a 2005 X3 2.0 diesel manual for R130k with about 119000km on - yay or nay?

Thanks!

And below is my absolute dream car, one day when I'm big
