Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone has had this on their cars... seems its quite popular on the USA forums.
So anyway washed my car yesterday, woke up this morning and on the front bumper by the grill there was this yellow/orange liquid that had seeped down from somewhere and positioned itself on the bottom of the bumper.
I SHAT bricks thinking oh no my car is leaking oil, but after wiping it off easily and checking some forums I see many F30 owners are having a similar issue.
The stuff is called cosmoline and it is apprently used by BMW to prevent corrosion while shipping. This stuff is supposed to be melted and extracted before you take delivery of your new car. But sometimes BMW doesnt get all of it. And then when the temperature rises to above 30 and your car is sitting in the sun it melts and starts to ooze from all the cars crevasses. I notice the inside of my engine bay has this adhesive in places as well.
Just thought I would post this up in case any other dude stresses balls.
