the leak originates in the valley between the heads- the water pump sends the water through a pipe to the back of the block and this pipe has a seal on each end the front seal is the one which goes 90% of the time. Image may be NSFW.

Stealer quote is in the region of R26000 to do the repair because they dismantle the whole top end including the heads. There are a few solutions to replacing the pipe on the web, but most of the replacement pipes from the States are in the region of $400. There is one other solution from Bimmerfix.com which involves fitting a stint into the front and sealing it. This kit comes in at $150 and does not involve taking the whole top off.
Any ideas out there?? Does anyone have an SA solution?
