Hi All,
new to the forum. Found it whiles searching for an answer to a power loss problem which I fortunately could trace to a faulty coil. Problem solved.... I have another question though which seems to elude me...
What could cause oil usage. Slight smoking mostly on pull away when the engine is warm. She uses about half litre every 800-1000 km. I have pulled all the plugs and they are all fine. Not one is more sooty than another none are "wet" The enigine runs well. No issues. she pulls like she should and does nto show any other issues. Other than the coil which is sorted now. She dropped a timing chain at around 46k km which BMW fixed under motorplan. She has just over 100k km now. The oil usage have gone progressively worse over the past 25k or so km. Is there anything other than valve stem seals that could cause this? Maybe a blocked breather? Could a afulty vanos do this? I would like her to run the way she should, ie. without using so much oil... And would thus appreciate any ideas or thoughts...
thanks!
