Here is an easy DIY if and when you would like to change your handbrake cover or the boot...
1. I found that the best area for me to get the boot loose was from at the front near the gear lever. Once that comes up all the rest follows nice and easy.
2. Once the boots up, pull it over the top of the handbrake to expose the cable-tie and cut it, then remove the boot. Be careful not to puncture the leather.
3. Now that the boot's off, you need to pull up the handle, you need to push / pull it quite hard, but be careful not to slam your front console.
4. Next, get you're nice new handle and simply insert it onto the handbrake arm, just pushes on.
Now with the boot inside out, slip it over the handle and position the top seams over the top corners of the handle and cable-tie them in place
5. And finally, you just reattach the boot.
