So run in period over and it was time to see if the 5door (f20) could give figures close to the 3door(f21) car.Both vehicles 8 speed auto.A close friend suggested i just let you guys know that when i test a car it is fuelled with 10percent ethanol and the tyres at 2bar pressure.This is possibly why figures i get may be slightly better than some people achieve.
The 5door M135i turned out to be only slightly slower than the 3 door.There is another thread on that test.
I thought it might be interesting to show the figures achieved between the following modes on the gearbox.
Run 1 is in COMFORT where launch is not available and you brake boost to 1500rpm.
Run 2 is full on SPORT + manual with launch control.

60ft................ 2.7sec......54km/h..............2.2sec......56km/h
1/8mile........... 9.1sec.....139km/h.............8.6sec.....139km/h
1/4mile..........13.7sec.....174km/h............13.1sec....176km/h
1000m...........24.2sec.....227km/h............23.6sec....228km/h
0-100km/h.....5.5secs................................4.9secs
100-180.........8.9secs................................8.9secs
120-170.........5.8secs................................5.8secs

I see a few things in these figures;
1)launch off the line essential if you are racing off the line.
2)once up to speed the in gear accelleration time shows that comfort is just as fast as sport.
3)Speed over distance is a way of comparing power output so the fact that the 5door and 3 door M135's both do the same KM speed shows both motors to be in the same state of tune with aerodynamics,frontal area etc also being close enough to not make a difference.

These M135i's are such a pleasure i could test them over and over and not get enough of that wonderful sound.
