Running 2 different brands of tyres front/back

So i bought a set of BMW Motorsport wheels this past weekend which i'm realy happy with!

Hassle is, they have Dunlop 6060 (225/40/18) all round whereas my current set-up is (255/35/18) at the back.

1. Should i leave the (225/40/18) all around <<< advisable?

2. Replace the rears with new 255/35/18 rubber? <<< This would have to be a different brand though because the Dunlop 6060 doesnt make the required size

Test Drove New M3

Hi guys!

Just got back from my test drive in the new M3 and thought I would share my impressions. I currently own an E92 M3 so I'll base my impressions in comparison to my car...

I drove the car with all its settings set to the Maximum sport + settings.

1. Engine - It really is OUTSTANDING....the car pulls extremely hard from any part of the rev range....you can hear the sounds of the turbos working and the exhaust note is much much better than I had heard in any of the online videos. With that being said, it can not compare to the sound of the V8 obviously. Overall, some people will love it and some will hate it...I for one don't hate it and neither do I love it....but as a trade off for the immense amounts of torque this engine makes, I can live with it! Thumbs

2. Interior - the seats are awesome....they hug you well through the corners and felt very comfortable, more so than my seats in the E92. I was able to find the perfect seating position and felt like I was "part of the car". As far as the rest of the interior goes, I was disappointed...the plastics used on the dash and centre console felt inferior to those used in the E92. The quality is nowhere near that of an Audi interior, and definitely not what I would expect from a car costing over a million bucks. Thumbdown This car only had the extended leather, which is why IMO you NEED to spec this car with Full leather so that the dash and door panels etc look "premium". With the full leather the interior will improve drastically.

3. Steering - this was one area I was worried about coming from the hydraulic steering in my E92. I found the steering to be precise and well connected to the road...I think BMW has done an excellent job with this electronic steering and people wont miss the hydraulic one. Thumbs

4. DCT - I would say the new DCT felt smoother and marginally quicker than the one found in my E92, the paddle shifts were great. My only disappointment was the downshifting...although the DCT does blip the throttle when downshifting, there was no ROAR that you get from the E92's V8 with downshifts...downshifts in the new M3 are quiet and too 335 like Thumbdown

5. Handling - the car definitely felt stiffer and lighter through the bends than my E92...the car had immense grip and definitely had less body roll....it's a winner Thumbs

6. Heads up display - the heads up display was perfect...non intrusive and now shows, Navigation, speed limit, and rev counter as opposed to just the travelling speed. Awesome feature!

Conclusion - Overall this new M3 left me smiling and wanting to drive it more. It may not be as theatrical as the outgoing V8, but improvements to the handling and engine make this new M3 a worthy successor. I for one had been worried that the new car would not meet my expectations and that with all the technology in the new model it would lose some of its "Mness" if that makes sense...but for those of you who are worried...DONT...the car is awesome. Management system help and advice

Hi all
Firstly I did try searching for this but I couldn't find what I was looking for.
Basically im in the process of building up a e46 track car and for now im putting in a e36 325 engine.
My problem is that I need a management system I have a gotech pro system but I messaged gotech via their Facebook page I sent this :
Hi There
I have a Gotech-PRO slimline
Chipset version 6 (60-2) (36-1) (MOD)
Will this be able to be used on an e36 325i
Engine?
And they responded with this:

No, it only has 3 coil drivers so you will need a
ProX. Some people have wired the coils in series 3
sets of 2 with wasted spark but not the correct
way.

So my question is basically what are my other options when it comes to management systems? I know of the brands etc and obviously I know a gotech pro x will work but I see there arw a couple dictator systems on gumtree etc but how will I know if it will work on my engine its a non vanos engine.
Any advice or info for better knowledge would be really helpful.
Thank you

also, the car I'm looking at is accident damaged, so not driveable (broken gearbox mounting) but its on all 4 wheels, and can move around.

E46 330d possible injectors

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum but have a problem and need advice.

I drive a stock standard 2004 E46 330d which I bought from my grandfather who only put 45 000km on it in 6 years. From 2010 to now I took the millage to 133000km.
Recently the car started to have shaking idle expecially in the morning. Apart from that it still drives really great. I took it to a guy who is full time employed at a BMW dealership but also works from home. He did a diagnostic test on it and told me that the injectors are faulty and that he will take them out and have them analysed but that I need to budget R3500 per injector. Can anyone advise on what I should do?
I have scouted the forums and apparently injectors should last way longer?
Please help!Argh

Sup all.

I have spend a few hours searching for cost effective ways of increasing the power of my 323i. Now from what I have read the 323 has the same motor as the 325.

What in your opinion is the best options to look at gaining some extra rKw without going for forced induction.

(This topic is so that everyone can gives ideas, maybe I missed something)

Thanks in advance!

Hi . I have an e36 325 and seem to have a problem with the clutch. When the car is idling and on neutral and the clutch is out , there is this noise that sounds like a bearing knock but when the clutch is in or when i'm driving ; there is no noise .
Someone told me it's the releaser bearing , or could it be anything else ? Also if it's the releaser bearing . Will that cause any oil leaks from the gearbox ?

Anyone have experience with using RaceChip Pro?

Hey guys,

I'm toying with the idea of fitting the RaceChip Pro to my 2008 R56
Cooper S.

Does anyone have experience/advice using RaceChip Pro? Anyone
currently using it? I'm wanting to know if it poses any problems
for the engine and turbo? Or is it be fine as long as I'm not using
settings that push the boost out of tolerance ranges.

I've got the JCW Tuning Kit fitted so am not wanting to push
the performance up too much, just tweak it a bit.

So I'm about to get my e90 330i and I know it has aux but doesn't have the usb and I know like my previous car it didn't have aux but if I pulled the factory radio out I could manually connect one so hoping BMW is the same.

So my question is would this work?
