RaceChip Chiptuning - BMW M4 Coupé
As most of you know...racechip is a German product. Their favourite brand is BMW. As the in house developers drive BMW themselves.....so the BMW brand gets a lot of love. And yes....there is already a chip available for the new M3/M4
German product and german car. Works great.

Concave wheels
Where can one get these? 19 or 20" for E92 M3?
Has anyone bought them off e-Bay?
My car has the 19" 220 wheels - pretty bland I think. I'm looking for black wheels, ideally 19's, so that I don't have to replace tyres.
Thanks

panelbeaters in/around Sandton
Hi guys,
I need to get 3 quotes for the insurance company. They said I can take the car anywhere. I am new to JHB so have no idea where Is trust worthy and do a good job. Someone drove into the back of me Damage is minimal though so I am lucky. The other party's insurance is sorting it out. I would just like to use approved BMW panel beaters.
I did do a Google search and a search on the forums but could only find posts for centurion, Pretoria and surrounding to other area, nothing near me. I am in Douglasdale Sandton.
Any recommendations would be great I would like to start checking places out today if possible.
Thank guys

Yellow oil light after driving
After driving oil light comes on in yellow / orange. Goes out after a few seconds. Oil level checked 5 to 10 minutes later and all is at correct level. Oil sensor perhaps. Mileage is 197000. Car serviced just over 3000 Kay's ago by Garage 808.
Overseas forums this phenomenon happens before startup it seems. Mine it happens after driving. Randomly and not all the time.

DICE 4 D.I.C.E
DICE 4 D.I.CE Charity Run yesterday
With regard to corporate social investment the Zululand Observer's D.I.C.E (Do I Care Enough Organisation) is indelibly linked to Zululand. Not only is the D.I.C.E Organisation involved in helping orphans, vulnerable children and seniors, but it is also active in all spheres of community upliftment. D.I.C.E does not have a label, nor does it have any politics. Its commitment is to people - to improve them, to develop them and to help them to help themselves. Its top priority is the care of children.
We had our annual run yesterday & what a awesome day & turnout it was although the heavens opened up. My buddy who also doesn't drive his LP550-2 brought it out all in aid of Charity. The event continues today with a Auto Cross event. If I can post more pic's please say so.
If we could support this aswell next year it would be more awesome. You guys let me know or I could slowly grow a BMW Fanatics following/group from this side of the North Coast. But there were 2, 1M's & 2 V8's on the run. Both 1M's have less than 10 000Kms. Both are still stock.

Liquimoly Upholstery Cleaner
Hi
I bought this liquimoly product from my mech to rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it. They use it for incase someone leaves a nice greasy footprint on the carpet.
Anyway I've had it for awhile and thought I'd test it out.
Time taken 10 mins
Process: spray on and leave for 2 mins. Take a brush and scrub it in after the 2 mins. Wipe off with damp sponge.
Since I'm having these panels recovered I taped off half so you can see the difference this made. Anyway here are the pics which speak for themselves.

Checking VIN Number before buying.
Hi Everyone,
So after mentioning in my other thread that Im looking to buy a 2003 Opel Astra CSX, Im now at the stage where the money is ready. Me and my grandad took it for a testdrive on friday and even though there are a few niggles, I still like the car.
Can anyone please tell me how I can now use the vin number or registration number to make sure that the car is legit. I really dont want to fork out money on anything that is going to cause me trouble in the future.
My one concern is the number plates on the car. Why doesnt it have the blue border? I would really appreciate if anyone can direct me to who/where I can go to to get the vin number etc checked just to make sure nothing dodgy is going on with the car.
Thanx Guys

M135i rattle from the rear when it is cold
Hi all.
I just recently got my M135I about three weeks ago. It is a ex BMW factory car with 11 000km's on the clock. 2013 model.
Loving the car but there is a persistent rattle/noise coming from the rear of the car when driven on uneven road surfaces. I have checked everything in the boot and they seem firm ranging from the medical to mobility kit.
So annoying. In my view, it could be the tailgate trim or even the tailgate.
I asked the dealer about a possible known fix but they were not sure. I was just reluctant to book it in as they would essentially be guessing.
Have any of the other M135i owners on the forum experienced this problem when it is cold outside?
Thanks Charles

F30 330d auto 8speed consumption 2014
My trip yesterday with the F30 330d.
Same trip as most know is a distance of roughly 120km.I use the journey meter as evidence because you cannot just reset a specific item.If reset that applies to distance, speed, and consumption.
Fuel consumption will be relative to your geographic situation and how many fellow motorists there are.Do not try to compare if you situation is not the same.
The first stretch is from Vereeniging (after filling up with Sasol 10ppm) to the 4way stop Fochville/Parys.Speedocruise is set to 102km/h as it is a 100km/h road. This stretch has very little traffic but is very bumpy and what comes to mind is how much more solid and comfortable the 330d feels compared to the 320d.The gear ratio is also longer and the car is idling along at 1300 revs per min.The distance of 33km yields 4.3l/100km at average speed 100.2km/h.
We carry on to Potchefstroom and reach the mall.A distance of 76km travelled, consumption of only 4.2l/100km and average speed of 97.3km/h that has come down slightly due to the road having 60 and 80 limits.
We head through town and towards Klerksdorp where we arrive with a distance travelled 121km consumption 4.3l/100km and average speed of 93.5km/h.Even though we have been cruising at 122km/h (1700rpm) the higher speed cannot make up for all the traffic lights we had to stop for.
The vehicle in question
For me the great part is that a car 100kg heavier and 50% bigger engine only consumes 15% more fuel than the miserly 320d.
An excellent vehicle BMW.
