Mr_nunu3 is back in action 27years old from jhb lenasia aka lenz "O" been a fan of old 1275 minis for many years n nw interest changed to BMW
driving a bmw E46 318i stock standard original 147 000km got the car for 2years nw

So my car occasionally before you start it all the needles in the cluster stutter slightly before going to normal position (like a surge). It has been to BMW 3 times already and has been reprogrammed on all 3 occassions..

The fun part now after I logged a call and complained on twitter I am told that the dealership has spoken to a technical fundie at the plant and he reckons the cluster needs to be replaced. Does the solution hold any water?

I done some research on the net and it seems this is due to bad earth or grounding somewhere. I just don't want to leave my car for another two days so they can "TEST" drive my car.

Hi Guys,

I have a 2001 BMW 330Ci, recently the Plastic 'Batwings' of my left side of convertibe snapped and tore into the convertible fabric lining, if anyone has the part, please let me know. Thanks.

Calling all experts!!!

I am thinking of buying an E46 M3, car is in fantastic condition, with one major problem, it wont rev past 4000rpm (thankfully I took it on a longer test drive today) gets to 4000rpm and its like a limiter kicks in, it coughs and splutters and gets maybe to about 4500rpm (which is as "hard" as I would push her.) Basically feels like she is in limp mode.

MAF Sensor? software issue?

Any ideas Gents ?

Hi guys, I've got this e30 box convert I'm working on.In the engine compartment there is this protective layer over the paint.Tried to remove it with thinners wich works like a bomb but just to scared it removes the paint as well.Can someone please steer me in the right direction of a product that i can use to remove this.thanks in advance

Hi there. My names Aazaad. I am in the process of buying a 135i and would like the guys opinions. Well firstly I was looking at a 2010 model. I found one which was a dct and only has 46000km and has xenons and sunroof. The last two items is a must have. The owner wants R260k. I was them busy with finance when another one became available with most of the options I would like. It's a 2009 monaco blue. It has 85000km. The extras is xenons, sunroof, front and rear pdc, sat Nav and Dvd with hi fi sound. It also has carbon boot spoiler and diffuser. And lastly has performance short shifter kit and performance steering with race clock. This cars motorplan expire end of jan 2015. I have checked history on car and came back clean. All recalls were done as well as new diff and clutch done at 56000km. The guy wants R260k.

Do you guys think it is worthed or should I look at a newer model.

Hi guys

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Martin, and I have been heavily involved in the VW community for the last 8 years. Following the theft of my Polo Sportline, I have been researching an comparing the two most logical next automotive acquisition - the A3 2.0TDi and the 320d/330d.

So far my heart is with the BMW, as they offer a more involved and satisfying driving experience compared to the A3, which to be honest feels very wooden and blunt.

Hopefully I'll have my E90 320d/330d within the next few weeks, and I look forward to learning and participating on this board as I start my journey into the world of rear-wheel driving bliss.

Hey folks,

So my newly acquired E65 LCI is showing the dreaded "No disk in Nav computer" message on the iDrive. Disk spins up fine, but it is not being read.

I have ordered a replacement laser (SF-HD4 Black Cap) and will write up a DIY with picture for this tread once received.

Cost of a new DVD drive module is around R3k, whereas the laser alone is only R500.

Had the pleasure of racing up Maxwell drive against Andz GP M135i
Great runs your car runs well. I have a 2013 M135i and Andz has 2014 you can see the power difference.

My gearbox was overheating as stated in a previous thread. The car was send to BMW today and they say it is the water pump. My question is how can it be the water pump if the engine is not overheating? They basically say it is now a process of elimination to find the fault. Can someone please tell me if you had the same experience before or know anything about this. The first quote is R13500 to replace the water pump.
