I thought it may be convenient to have our own discussion and experiences with the new OBD flasher called MHD and its integration with the JB4.
MHD is the first Android handheld application to bring ECU tuning and monitoring to the BMW N54 engine. Many enthusiasts have been frustrated by the fact that the BimmerBoost (BB) DME capped boost at around 18psi tapering to 12psi at redline. MHD has Cobb's race logic which allows the DME to see up to 21psi across the board. Good news for the professional tuners and the Backyard tuners (BYT)
since this provides more tuning flexibility.

The flasher is very easy to install. All you need is any compatible Android 3.2 and up device/smart phone. Connect the device to your car using a standard K+Dcan cable to the OBD port and an OTG USB cable.
Then you choose and install from the pre-purchased MHD Q-Logic built-in maps or my personal preference the BMS MHD backend flashes to run with the JB4 or you can upload your own custom map.
Some of the features include:
◦Read stock ECU - as fast as 5s on most of the cars.
◦Allows increased torque limits
◦Optional increased boost ceiling (I8A0S/IJE0S)
◦Upgrade to IJE0S / I8A0S to take advantage of the specific features (more monitors available, increased boost limit)
◦2 minutes map switching
◦Initial install time : 18 minutes on KLINE cars (2007 & Early 2008), 38 minutes on DCAN cars (2008+)
◦Read / delete engine trouble codes.
◦Reset adaptation values (Lambda, Fuel/air, Octane rating, VANOS, Throttle, Battery
•Monitor module◦Extensive logging values list, up to 30 values at the same time.
◦Save logging session to .CSV files
◦Configurable Gauges
◦Linear throttle option
◦Wastegate rattle fix option
Supported vehicles:
2007-2010 135i, 335i and 535i
2011-2013 335is
2009-2015 Z435i/is
2011-2012 1M
Pay to play:
The MHD licence is VIN locked to one car and you have to pay for the flasher app module; the built in maps and the monitor module.

LIKES:
* Very convenient to use
* Various options to load tuning files
* You can connect to the flasher before purchasing and it will identify your VIN and ECU software version.
* The MHD monitoring and logging is good for those that wants to run a standalone flash without a JB4. The JB has its own monitoring and logging abilities which I prefer, so buying the MHD monitoring module is not worth it.
* Makes the Bimmerboost Flash (BB) platform redundant
* Makes the expensive COBB device redundant for the N54 platform.
* Resetting adaptation values - brilliant.
DISLIKES:
* Not really
* But plenty reports of it being buggy
* Random misfires after loading a custom or MHD or JB4 backend flash.
