Hi

I've got a bit of a problem and trying to work this out, so any advice is more than welcome.

When the car is cold it idles normal, but as soon as I put it in gear (any gear) the idling lowers and then jumps up again. This only happens when the car is cold and extremely uncomfortable.

Any advice is welcome (and needed)

Hi guys

I have a question pertaining to replacing of a turbo's core
So after illiminating some issues of an oil leak ( visible on the floor)
my car is still loosing oil , so after the last assessment we've come to the only other possible problem it could be, the turbo
we've replaced the broken oil return pipe to the turbo ,even the oil breather valve ,no more oil laying on the floor or even visible
so after scouting around i've come across a company that sells the complete new core of the turbo balanced and everything and all at a fraction of the price to replace the complete turbo

so my question is ,has anyone ever done this
the company is turbosonline ,does anyone know of them
they're in cape town ( blou berg),so am I

any other suggestions

This gorgeous C63 507 belongs to a customer that we had done some work for previously. He was extremely happy with the work we had done for him previously so this car was brought to us the same treatment.

Work carried out:
- VPS bonnet (partial)
- VPS fenders (partial)
- VPS headlights
- VPS front guard (bumper)
- VPS door edges
- VPS boot sill
- Laminx tail lights

Apparently the car went into limp mode.... and the respose is.... head gasket.... might be R15k... this is the guy whos first quote was for R4k cos the powersteering pipes were leaking by the pump...

Where can i get a 2nd opinion on why limp mode and what ti do and how to fix? Jacques from fastserv in pta has become busy so he over quotes and throws a quick fix at twice the price.... (wanted a mate to replace both n54 turbos when it wasnt even the turbos.... ) next opinion?

Howsit guys,

I've tried the search function but it did t come up with anything. I have an e90 320i auto and my car is now out of mp. It's sitting on +-92500kms so i wanted to know how often do the spark plugs need to be replaced as well as pollen filter?

And if possible can someone give me an idea on cost of these parts?

Hi guys,

Any advice welcome...

The car was started on a hot day, aircon full on then about 5km into the drive Drivetrain malfunction, you have limited power.
After I switched off for like 5 minutes, the error hasn't come back and the car drives like normal?

Car has like 3k on the clock with no mods.

15" 7j all round.

Hi Guys,

The ABS unit in my car is faulty. Error code 5df5. Cleaned and checked ABS sensors, all are fine. Does anyone know where i Durban I can get the unit recon or a second hand one? Which is better to recon or buy second hand?

Howzit guys

I am toying with the option to add this as one of the services we can offer at VPS Randburg. I have made contact with a talented installer who can do pretty much anything in terms of boot and in-car installs and looking to incorporate this into our services offered.

We will aim to offer the best quality products at the best possible prices and obviously the quality if the install will need to be up to my standards.

Just for interest sakes, what would you guys think? Is there a market for this?

Seasons greeting to everyone. Hope you have an awesome 2016.

Since my last stock dyno run where I made 200.2wkw & 429nm, I've done the mpe, downpipe & jb4 with ff.

While it was cool this morning I decided to get a quick run at KAR. Did about 250km with a 10% eth mix.

What do you guys think? Seems a bit low to me. Car has been surging since I added the jb4 back and need to get someone to log it for me.

I will soon be changing my tyres 225/50/17 on 2.0d X1 I would like to jump the profile up a bit going to a 55 profile will give a 3.1% increase which is a safe medium. Has anyone gone to bigger and had any adverse road holding ? I run std tyres not runflats with a bmw spare wheel kit. Would a bakkie type of tyre be detrimental as well

Well this is new for me...

I am an avid lover of natural aspirated cars. So this is a little outside of my comfort zone.

However as some of you might already know this is Rowans ex concourse winning M3. So its a great base to work with. The car rides as well as the White one does. Just more comfortable as it has the stock 18s and rubber still on.

The car









I received the car on Friday the 8th of Jan so its only been a couple of days of ownership. However being me I started work right away.

First up the things I know. Valve clearances and cdv delete.

22 out of the 24 shimms was replaced. And I can report the car is idling much quieter and some free wkws were had.



Ignore the torx tools.



Tappet cover cleaned just for kicks





And steering wheel brought back to life

Also found a sway bar bracket damaged so replaced both. Including bew bmw shimms





We're still in the early stages of deciding where we want to go with this car but for me personally I want to achieve a reliable daily supercharged M3 with around 300wkw.

This will be the thread where all the dynos and logs and mod changes will be posted as well as tlgps on private test tracks.

Cosmetically the car is in beautiful condition. Ill take some more pics today as I am off and fiddling around with the dynavin headunit.

Hi guys

My car is a 2004 e46 M3 and has a valeo starter motor the earlier models came with a bosch starter motor anyone knows the difference between these 2 starters? My car just randomly doesnt start so the starter motor was taken out an tested but when tested is working 100% could it be the solenoid is faulty when its on the car as it jus makes a click when you turn the ignition? I cant seem to get parts to recon this starter and only agents have the starter but are expensive. Looking at getting the bosch motor but not sure if it will work .
