solid flywheel for M30

Hi, where can I find a solid, single mass flywheel for my M30B35? 240mm

I'm looking at the scrapyards around here (Cape Town), but no luck so far.

It can come from any M30 motor found in the 5, 6 or 7 series. e.g.: E28/E12 528, 530, 535, 533, E24 635, E23 728, 733 or 735i.

Clutch Fluid drain and replace

So with all I have been busy with on my little Hyundai I figured I will replace the brake and clutch fluid (same fluid actually) with the next service.
With it being such a cheap job, I decided to just get on with it yesterday.
I could not believe how bad it actually was, fluid looked very dark and was probably never replaced in the 8 years the car has been running (Dealership services for you right there.)

So removed the bleed nipple completely and drained the fluid. Screwed the nipple back in, filled up the reservoir and bleed the clutch.
Had a bit of a laugh. Asked my mom to pump the clutch, (she has not driven in years, not that old, she is only 66 years young). First she pumped the brakes, then the gas pedal. After I managed to compose myself with laughter, I reminded her where the clutch pedal is.

I bleed the clutch, took a drive and the gears engage way smoother now, all 5 and reverse.

This is one super clean example of an Ed35 and the owner made the very wise choice to have VPS applied to the car to protect the paint.

Work carried out:
- VPS bonnet guard (partial)
- VPS fender guard (partial)
- VPS headlights
- VPS mirror backs
- VPS front guard (bumper)

330d LCI electronic issue

[LOUDLY CRYING FACE]

Got no idea what the issue is,

Monday afternoon I pulled Away from the robot, hardly got ten metres, heard pop noise from engine bay, lost all power and the motor then cut out. Tried staring it up again. It took and started but for couple seconda then kept dying. This happened several times. Eventually saw smoke coming out the airbox, lifted the filter and smelt unburnt diesel so definitely flooding. Seems to be electronic fault but got no idea where to start looking. Kak part is motorplan expired in December. So stressed about costs too... Anyone got any ideas?

Let me know please. Checked fusebox in glove compartmemt too. Saw a fuse with letters RT on a purple colour was just dangling there. Fits into an awkward space on side of glove box. Needless to say vehicle had to be towed. Was not lukker. Any suggestions please gents.

After clearing memory faults these remain hard faults and will not clear. could the LIN bus be the cause of the shifting?

Fault code memory list
Fault code Description
0049A5 LIN bus : Communication fault
00A66E FZD: Interior lights in rear

Following LIN bus communication fault code is logged:
49A5 LIN bus : Communication fault
Permanent fault
Frequency:1
Healing counter:0
Possible fault causes: Short to B+, short to ground in LIN bus wiring
harness / in one of the connected LIN bus users.
The fault status is read out in the next test step.
False
Engine control unit LIN bus function check:
Fault status is continuously read out. The status changed within 90
seconds.
Current fault status | :
49A5 LIN bus : Communication fault
Permanent fault
For this, individually disconnect the installed LIN users on the engine
control unit (see wiring diagram). If the fault code memory status
changes to "currently not present"the cause of fault is in the disconnected
user/section of wiring harness. If the fault status does not
change, another bus user may be defective, the main wiring harness
damaged or the engine control unit defective.
Important: At least one bus user must remain connected otherwise
the status of the communication fault will remain "currently present".
If the status does not change, unplug the last user and connect a
different bus user.
True
If the communication fault still persists, disconnect all users and check
the line and plug connections for short-circuits.
Check following lines and plug connections:M_LIN
False

Using water rapidly

Hi gents. I have a problem my e36 316I is using a hell of alot of water. I have to keep filling it up. I have recently put a new radiator in as the old one was cracked. Taking the oil filler cap off I don't see any sludge build up or water in the oil as to say head is cracked. In the front its got a black arm which the radiator hose goes into.upon moving this arm it's sounds like water pressure seeping through but I do not know if this would be enough to cause it. I litteraly can drive 60kms and then the car will have lost a lot of water. Temp gauge only starts going up once water is almost gone. And there's alot of pressure build up. Any ideas?

E82 1M bumper

Hi Everyone,

I am very new to the forum. so forgive me if this topic has been covered already. I have just got myself an E82 120D Coupe. I am taking delivery of it sometime this week. I know its soon but I am already planning the mods I would like to do and the main one is the 1M bumper. I think it just gives the car a much more of a butch look.

So the question is where could I get one in the jhb area? I have seen a few on some 135's on the road so couldn't really ask where it was from.

Thanks in advanced!

Need help with bottom radiator hose removal

Hi guys. I bought the 320i a few months ago. The previous owner burst a hose on top of the radiator, blew all the coolant out the system. Now running on water only. Just need some tips on how to remove the bottom radiator hose so as to drain some water out. I don't want to take the 2 splash pans off the underneath. Is it advisable to change the whole bottom hose including o rings, or can I just get away with removing the hose and reinstalling it. I've heard some of these can be a buggar to get off. The vehicle has only done 108000km. Is it ok to fill 50/50 with plain water or must it be distilled water?
Will appreciate any advice.

*Click click* won't go away

Good day fellow BMW lovers Praise

I have an e36 325. It runs extremely well and it's surprisingly not very troublesome for a 21 year old car. I've just replaced the usual wear and tear items over time but now there seems to be a problem that just doesn't want to go away..

The seems to be a sort of clicking noise, like metal on metal, everytime I accelerate. It's coming from the back of the car and it's rather loud and irritating. It's not there when I change gears or roll the car. It just clicks when there's a chance in acceleration. It clicks once and then it's fine until I leave the gas and accelerate again. Then it'll click again because of change in acceleration and it's fine... The click is rather loud as you can hear it if you standing outside the car..

I've done research and a few repairs and all possible reasons are not the cause.. I replaced u joints, I checked up cvs and they're good, and I checked the diff oil it's full... I'm not sure whether it can be a backlash on the diff because If it was, then the car would click even if I just leave the clutch because the diff will be forced to spin, but it doesn't click when I do that..

The good thing is that it's not affecting the performance of the car or anything else. It's just making an irritating noise which is coming from the back, more or less under the back seat section of the car.

Anyone knows what could be the problem? Or have any advice for me?

Your help will truly be appreciated
