He was the only guy who could supply me with only front H&R springs. Remember my problem with all the sound in the trunk that it picked up the front so much more. Last Friday I did a quick glaze with Menzerna products fitted the springs and used Foliatec spray film on the wheels. All done in 9Hrs. Here's some pics. Will drive her properly & report back on handling.

Clutch Specialists: Rosebank or Centurion
Hi All
Not for my Beemer, but would appreciate some help nonetheless.
I'm having a bit of an issue with my 2009 Hyundai Getz 1.4 HS and assuming it's the clutch. I get a bit of a vibration / shake when pulling off in first gear - its most noticeable when sitting in traffic. I was in stop and go traffic for quite some time yesterday and got quite a strong burnt smell when I got out of the car. I'm no expert when it comes to technical matters but assuming it could be a burnt clutch plate?
Does anyone know of or can anyone recommend any good and affordable clutch specialists in Killarney/Rosebank/Parktown area? Alternatively, I can also look at someone in Centurion as this is where I stay.
Also, looking to replace tyres on the car (14 inch all round) - can any recommend somewhere affordable or know of any specials that are running at the moment?
Thank you!

Hey guys,
this is my story:
I have an e36 325i cabriolet. I only use my car on weekends. for the past 2 weeks my battery seems to be dying. I have the car about 5 months now.
I was thinking of changing the battery, i am in dbn where can i get a good battery at a good price? another thing is it currently has a Raylite 652 battery 66Ah. is this the right battery?
Also i am not sure if the battery is old or something is draining the battery. any common issues that could cause this?
Please advise urgently.

R2bn ‘Zumaville’ Going Ahead
Plans for development of a R2 billion town near President Jacob Zuma's Nkandla homestead are moving ahead, the Sunday Times reported.
Two weeks ago Zuma met local businessmen to discuss the project for building the town, officially called the Umlalazi-Nkandla Smart Growth Centre, but dubbed 'Zumaville' in the media.
At the meeting Zuma said: "It's going to be the first town of its kind to be built by black people after democracy."
Uthungulu district municipal manager Thembeka Mchunu said the plans were being finalised and building would already be underway if not for the elections on Wednesday.
She said there would be private investment in the project, but declined to name these investors.
The town is just over 3km from Zuma's Nkandla home and is expected to cost around R2 billion.
Nkandla municipal manager Sthembiso Mthembu, however, said he did not know about the project besides what he had gleaned through the media.
"I don't understand why, if a town is going to be built in our area, we're not part of it as the Nkandla municipality," he said.
The project was the brainchild of Masibambisane, a rural development organisation which Zuma and his cousin Sibusiso "Deebo" Mzobe co-chair.

Advice please!
Hi all
Im looking for your guys opinions and advice.
I am looking at getting a e46 320d or 330d.
I currently drive an Opel Corsa OPC but I am now in the process of building an E46 race car.
So basically my thing is this... I am looking to sell my corsa and buy myself a e46 320d or 330d and put some money into the race car plus save on fuel prices.
At the moment I spend R560 a week and get between 400 and 450km to a tank with an average of between 10 and 11l/100km as I mainly drive town driving not much highway.
So my first question is do you guys think an e46 330d or 320d will actually be lighter on fuel or is it just a dream lol.
My best friend who is also on here (putrid444) and he has an e90 lci 320d and he has amazing fuel consumption?
Also the reason I am asking about a 330d because I have read a lot about engine problems etc with the e46 diesel engines?
So my second question is basically how reliable are these cars? I have been told and have read that the 330d gives less issues? ? Can anyone confirm?
What do you guys recommend I do?
Thanks in advance

BMW brand car care products.
Has anyone used these products? If so, are they good quality? Their prices seem quite reasonable compared to the usual BMW price threshold.
I've seen some of the products in the display cases at JSN.

What is the best car you have owned !
So we have had threads in the past but i have never seen one like this before on this forum .
I would like to know what is the best car you have owned up to now ,this does not come down to the most powerful tyre shredding beast but rather a car that made you smile every time you climbed in and went for a spin.
For me it would be my 1999 Opel Kadett 200is 8v ,i bought this car last year August round about this time from a family member who had it from new , i grew up obsessed with this car and when the chance came i grabbed it and have been happy since.
Things about the car that makes me happy would have to be exhaust tone (custom ftw ) ,responsive motor which feels quicker than it actually is and the handling which is impressive for a car built in 1999.
Even tho i have only did about 2000km in her since owning it i have really grown attached
Please share your experiences

Calling on Durban ///M owners for help
Hi Guys
I have previously posted for assistance but here it goes again.
My cousin is getting married on the 1st November this year.
He’s asked me if I could use my car as his wedding car, but I thought I would do much better and ask if any of the ///M brothers on the forum would be willing to use their ///M to drive him to the wedding hall.
It will only be to drive him there from his house and I will take the bridal couple back home in my car after the wedding.
I will be more than willing to pay for the fuel if required.
The bridegroom will need to be collected from Chiltern Heights Shallcroos and taken to the Umhlatuzana civic hall Chatsworth.
Please if anyone is able to help please PM me

Clear Rear Lights!
Hi All,
I have a Mini One (2002) I am getting ready to sell and a rear brake light needs changing. However, I have all white lights on the car (bought with them already on, pic below). Can someone point me in the right direction of a place to get a new bulb(s)/unit as the lights are soldered onto the board!
Cheers :-D

DIY: e46 Window Lift Switch Replacement
Whatsup
For @peanuts:>>>
Pretty easy to do this…
Got the part from BMW as MD and GDrive had no stock.
Part no: B61316902175 (for the e46 Coupe)
You can weld / fix the lifter’s themselves or get the whole unit.
R738 just for this part! Yikes!
1. Disconnect Battery (just in case )
2. Squeeze and lift the shift boot edges to access the screws (2) (you don’t have to completely remove it over the knob)
3. Use the Philips head from the boot toolset to unscrew the two screws visible.
4. Lift /raise the center console piece up to access the bottom of the window lifter switch
5. Squeezing the retaining clips releases / disconnected the wire. Replace with new window lifter switch.
6. Reassemble and then >>> working windows!

2004 Astra Buying Advice Needed
Hi Guys,
I am probably gonna get strung up, shot and stuffed for this
But this forum has always been the best and most reliable source of real information. Opel Owners Forum does not come close!
So I am currently looking for an Astra G 1.8 to buy as a second car to use while I am in Pretoria during the week. What are common problems and warning signs to look out for on the Astra G? How are these cars in terms of reliability & fuel consumption. How are the service parts on the Astra G, are they expensive. Is this car expensive to maintain?
For example: oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, fanbelt, timing belt, brake discs & pads etc.
I have heard that as preventative maintenence one should replace the water pump as this can interfere with the cambelt?
The specs on the one I am considering:
2004 Opel Astra 1.8 Sport 5 Door
200,000km
R40,000
Please keep in mind I will be keeping the Corsa Utility. This will be my second car.
Thanx Guys

WHat did i do wrong?
Hi guys,
I did an alternator refurb on my e30 (318i) over the last week and installed it last night. Everything went well but when I tried to hook up the battery I got heavy sparks the minute I brought the batt cable close to the terminal. Its as if the polarity direction has changed, but if I test the alternator out of the car hooked up to a battery she runs fine... And the funny thing is that all the wires that attach to the alternator have specific size connectors so I could not have wired it incorrectly... Wtf do I do now???
Thanx!

Huge Favour
Morning guys,
I have a huge favour to ask. My brother has his Matric dance end of September. He is also a big BMW fan and would love to attend in a new M6. I know this is a huge ask and any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
If someone is willing it will only be a short drive (obviously you would be driving), our house is about 5km from the school. Will only need to drop off. Thats all. All costs, travelling, your time, etc will be covered and any other requests you might have.
Im also open to any other suggestions and cars so please feel free to comment. I would really appreciate the help. Thanks to all you awesome fanatics.
(PS. this is in CPT, DF Malan High School)

Motorplan extension - is it worth it
Greetings fanatics
I would greatly appreciate the input of my fellow fanatics, I have a 2010 320d, whose motorplan expires on 24 Jan 2015. My vehicle has 63,5XXkm on with no comments on the plan.
BMW has quoted me R9,024.13 to extend for one year, this to me seems rather steep as but would like to hear from others who have extended their motorplan's whether not this is a fair price or more daylight robbery.
a pic of my beauty attached.
cheers
Julius

Connected drive help
Hi Guys - i recently purchases a 2013 320i auto F30. I have downloaded all the apps (my remote etc). I called BMW and they advised i need to register on BMW Connecteddrive to logonto the apps. I successfully managed to register but when i 'add vehicle" it states unable to add vehicle as no Mobile Network Facility. I called BMW again and they advised that this feature is only available to BMWs manufactured after 1st July 2014 and cannot be added on to an older vehilce - please let me know if there is anyway around this as BMW.com says that these apps are compatible to the 3 series from 2008 onwards.
Also wanted to ask, which is the best smart phone to get in terms of compatability with the BMW i have - between the Samsung and Apple.
Thanks guys

New guy
Hi All,
Always heard great things about this forum and finally decided to join, after purchasing a BMW.
I have never been a fan of the brand, until recently, and after driving one, I eventually bought 2 of them.
I have a X1 for the wife and took delivery a couple of week ago of a new 320.
Coming from a long line of hot hatches, this is the first sedan that I have owned and enjoying it so far. The comfort is what I was looking for (for now) and will look at upgrading to a more powerful model in the near future. As I miss the power coming from a 235wkw car
